This is a selection of SF stories by Alan E Nourse, published in the USA by David McKay Company, Inc., New York. 1961. 184pp.
These stories are very much in the tradition of better writers such as Eric Frank Russell, but to be fair they are intelligent and well written. They just fall short of the sparkle that EFR writes with, but are a very respectable selection of good standard SF.
Being a doctor, the writer brings a fair bit of medical jargon into his tales and he uses his knowledge with good effect. Written mainly in the 1950s and very much of that era, but well worth reading and passing a pleasant evening with.
