Mork & Mindy

Post by John »

We've started working our way through Season 1 and eventually we'll get to the Season 3 that we haven't seen.

Mork and Mindy is a charming, very sweet comedy from the late 1970s. Starring Robin Williams as the odball alien Mork from Ork and Pam Dawber as the gorgeous Mindy McConnell who takes him in to teach him the ways of Planet Earth.

This is Quality! 5s

As we have progressed through these, and we are now almost at the end of Series 3, it's obvious that many of these episodes were not bought for showing in the UK. I suspect that ITV bought a block of them, based on what they thought a UK audience would relate to. Admittedly some of the jokes and references are a bit obscure for us here, but there hasn't been an episode that was unworthy of our attention. I think the TV companies are a bit too cautious sometimes.

So now we await the release of Series 4 on DVD. This was never shown in the UK so far as I recall and is the season that starts with Mork and Mindy getting married. I wonder how that worked?
