Soap

Post by John »

This is the story of two sisters, Jessica Tate and Mary Campbell...we've just finished watched Season One, and it's a long time since we saw them. We do have a few odd episodes recorded off air onto VHS, but the whole season was an amusing pleasure to watch. I's forgotten just how pretty Jodie's girlfriend was, but most of the show was familiar.

It's relaxed, funny and comfortable, like a pair of well worn slippers. In its day it was cutting edge and lucky to be on air.

Unfortunately, so far only Season One has been released in the UK, so we'll have to wait awhile to see and remember who killed Peter Campbell....

All hail to eBay, there have been previous issues of all four seasons. So we are now working our way through Season Two. It's nice to be able to watch as few or as many at a time as we wish - these days the idea of waiting a whole week for the next episode of anything seems unbearable!

Seasons Three and Four have now arrived, so the tale can continue! It's all so wonderfully excessive...

Speaking of realism though, it's not really any less realistic than that dreadful scene in Dallas, "Bobby, I've just had a terrible dream...." - the turning point where Dallas lost the plot.
