VHS RIP

Well, our penultimate ( we have one in stock unused yet) VHS recorder died peacefully yesterday. It was still connected up and was carrying the Freeview antenna data and then it all went quiet....so it had to be removed from service and the input was rerouted directly into the TV.

That Sony recorder has done very well, it's lasted probably more than 20 years being continuously switched on, but I guess everything has a lifetime.

If we want to watch any VHS cassettes we'll have to look out the reserve recorder and set it up, if it still works anyway, but we haven't felt the need in the last 5 years so it's unlikely to happen.

In this household, VHS, 1980-2018.

Lol - you have clung onto VHS longer than most. What are you going to do with all the VHS cassettes in your house?
