Beggin'

Post by John »

Well I've been prediciting a Four Seasons revival for this/next year here in the Uk, and now the release date is close for the re-mix of the 1967 hit "Beggin'", written by Peggy Farina and Bob Gaudio. It was a top 20 success in the USA the first time around and the re-mix is getting heavy airplay here already.

It's still being performed in concert so I guess Frankie and the group will be well rehearsed to promote the song if they want to.

I say if because promotion has never been a strong point...

Beggin' is now out in physical CD and 7" and 12" formats, and is currently at the lower end of the Top 50 Downloads.

Go out and buy two copies, one to listen to and one to sell on eBay in about 18 months at a ridiculously inflated price....

Don't knock it, it works. Remember you heard it here first and don't forget my commission.

Beggin' is now 32 in the official UK Singles Chart and apparently selling very well.

Apparently this makes The Four Seasons the only US group to have hit records in the UK some 44 years apart.

More useless statistics will no doubt follow.....

Not only 32 on the UK Singles chart but actually No 1 on the UK Dance Chart.

How exciting.

It's hard to comment on that as we don't know what you heard on YouTube!

When you call next I'll play you a nice loud full Hi-Fi version that will shake the street's foundations and cause cracks in the walls of the nearest nuclear reactor.

Then we'll see if you dance or not....

And this week it's down to #45 so that may be it for this release.

Ah well, it might help to speed up the release of Frankie's new album...
