Haggis Hunting in the Trossachs

Post by John »

This is the Family Tale about Haggis hunting.

The Common Haggis lives standing on the side of Scottish mountains, aided by having the legs shorter on one side than the other. Hunting the Haggis is simple. All you do is walk up behind it, say, "Excuse me..." and the Haggis turns round and rolls down the hill where a Haggis Hunter bops it on the head and puts it into a sack. Sorted.

The Marine Haggis, served in batter, is found off the Isle of Mull and is captured in a quite different and totally mysterious way.

There will be those dear readers who doubt the veracity of this tale, but I can assure you that it was written clearly on a postcard from the Trossachs to my Grandmother many years ago. True she said on my return, "I didn't want all that rubbish, I wanted to know what the weather was like!" but then we all have our problems...
