Tablet Dangers

It amazes me sometimes how thick intelligent people can be.

Thinking of the prescribed tablets I handle for my Mum, for years the style of each tablet has been the same. If we looked in the BNF (British National Formulary) then a tablet would be described as, say, "oval, white tablet with centre score, insccribed ...etc." Just lately though the packaging constantly changes, the actual appearance of the tablets has started changing, and I can't help but think that the less aware could become very confused and make mistakes. This could also apply to those who dispense.

So, why? Throwing away standards seems very dangerous to me.
