Pentax Digital Compacts

A couple of observations really. Having tried all sorts of makes, including most recently Fuji in the form of the excellent F50fd, I am always coming back to Pentax.

I have just put the F50fd on eBay and have ordered a Pentax T30 instead. It's all down to the operational logic and menu systems. I so much prefer the logic of the Pentax engineers.

The keen eyed will also have noted that I am going from 12MP to 7.1MP - these small cameras have such tiny CCDs that 12MP is not any great advantage. What you gain in resolution is offset by the gain in noise. Anything of 6MP or more will be fine.

The T30 is proving to be just fine. And I do like that touch screen! It's really cool and works really well.

The T30 is still goin well and I've even started using the movie function from time to time. The quality is at least as good as anything on YouTube so it's serviceable.

Why not have a look at my Facebook page to see Hazel, Lyndsey and Di in live performance on New Year's Eve.....
