Sue now has a terrific Fuji compact with 12MP and some fascinating Face Detection technology. The camera does actually recognise faces and both focus on the eyes and optimise the exposure.

It's incredibly how clever the programming is and it means that inexperienced and casual photographers can now expect better results than ever before.

For the more experienced, like Sue, when she doesn't need the extra automation she can of course switch it off and make the decisions herself.

I was so impressed that I bought one as well.

A very competent camera. I have already made some very nice A3 competition prinst with it and you can't tell they come from a compact.

But despite its qualities I am now selling it, as mentioned elsewhere, and replacing it with a Pentax T30. Oh the restless nature of the Amateur Photographer...
