Canon G11

Post by jackitec »

I love my Pentax equipment but I have just bought a Canon G11 should have it next week, I wanted a small camera with all the features of a DLSR and what I have seen up to now may or may not satisfy my needs the photos will tell, the only reason I have bought it is that I have to much gear to carry around and want to downsize, I know John is an avid Pentax user and so am I for 35 years,If Pentax had such a camera then there would be no choice other than a Pentax but they don't, so when I get it I will post some photos and you can give me your opinions,
thanks.
Jack.
P.S. I am not defecting from Pentax.

The G11 is attempting to bridge that gap between convenience and quality. So far I haven't really found a camera that does, so if the results are good that will be fantastic.

I'll be very interested to see some results when you have them.

Time will tell if it suits you and it does what you want it for, but the first results look very encourgaing.

Thanks for sharing the images!

Thanks John, it's more for the convenience of carrying it everywhere so we'll see how it goes, here's another photo,

It's impressive. How small is it? Really pocket sized or a more of a large external pocket as in a waterproof coat?

Hi John, I've had it my shirt pocket but it fits nicely in my trouser pocket, I have it with me everywhere but not a patch on the K20, but then I'm quite happy with what it does for me, but then I can't post them on the Pentax User site so I post them elsewhere, Jack.

Thanks Jack. You're right that PU is Pentax only, the merest hint of anything else and.......

Glad you're enjoying your new camera. :)
